June 23-27

SESSION 1:
Build, Construct, Create
Children will take a collaborative lead in designing and constructing creative building projects! Using a variety of materials such as boxes, paint, recyclables, and natural elements, they’ll work together to bring their ideas to life. This two-week-long construction adventure fosters collaboration, planning, and problem-solving in a hands-on, exciting way.


June 30 - July 3

SESSION 2:
Build, Construct, Create
+ Ooey Gooey Science
As we continue to build and expand on our construction project from Session I, we’ll introduce the wonders of Ooey Gooey Science! Get ready for hands-on, sensory-based science experiments that are as fun as they are messy. Expect slime, bubbles, fizzing reactions, and other surprises that will spark curiosity and excitement.

*Please note this is a 4-Day camp since the Fourth of July falls on a Friday this year*


July 7-11

SESSION 3:
Dragons, Fairies & Music
There’s nothing like the great outdoors in the summer! We'll use tents, camping equipment, and a real canoe to fish in to create our Nitty Gritty campsite. We’ll explore nature, learn about bugs, and enjoy the great outdoors with friends.


July 14-18

Session 4:
Dragons, Fairies & Music + Children’s Literature
Building upon the magical adventures from Session 3, this week we’ll integrate beloved children’s literature to enhance the fantasy experience. Through engaging storytelling, role-playing, and themed activities, campers will explore important values such as teamwork, kindness, and problem-solving in a fun and interactive way.


July 21-25

session 5:
Camping & Nature Day Camp
It’s time for an outdoor adventure! Campers will experience the joy of camping this week—right here at Nitty Gritty! They’ll set up tents, explore nature, use natural materials for crafts, and sing campfire songs. They’ll learn about the beauty of the great outdoors through exciting activities while building teamwork and outdoor skills.


July 28 - August 1

session 6:
camping & Nature +
bugs & Insects
No camping is complete without learning about the tiny creatures that play a huge role in nature! Campers will get up close and personal with bugs and insects while discovering how they help our environment. Hands-on activities, bug hunts, and nature-based art projects will make this a fascinating and educational week!

Camp is 8:15 AM - 1 PM for half-day learners and 8:15 AM to 3 PM for full-day learners.

Aftercare is available from 3 PM - 5 PM for an additional cost.

Families new to Nitty Gritty must pay via Zelle once enrollment is accepted. Payments should be sent to: aasvpreschool@actonsv.com (Please include your child's name in the memo).
Is Summer Camp refundable?
Camp tuition is non-refundable, but session exchanges may be arranged based on availability.
Are there any requirements for enrollment?
We require all new families to visit our Preschool before enrolling. You can schedule a tour here.
What does my child need to bring?
- Play clothing that can get messy
- Extra clothes
- A water bottle, and a snack and lunch
- Sunscreen: Please apply sunscreen before arriving each day (per licensing requirements, we cannot apply sunscreen)
What documents will I need to provide?

As per Community Care Licensing, the following documents are required for all children:

  • Identification and Emergency Information
  • Preadmission Health History
  • Physician’s Report (signed by your child’s doctor, including immunizations)
  • Consent for Medical Treatment
  • Personal Rights
  • Notification of Parent’s Rights
How will my child be placed?
Campers are placed in studios based on the best interests of the children. We aim to create balanced and nurturing groups. Children with learning or physical disabilities may be enrolled upon mutual agreement between parents and Nitty Gritty staff, based on our ability to meet their needs.
