Position: Elementary Studio
We are seeking a full-time Guide / Teacher to work with our learners in one of the Elementary School Studios. Our Guides have the opportunity to grow quickly and take on a leadership role on our campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide young people on their independent journey of lifelong learning by asking insightful questions.
- Lead Socratic discussions and work with the Acton Academy SV learning design, processes, and systems.
- Equip our Learners to explore and take ownership of their learning, monitor progress, and create life-oriented projects that nurture curiosity.
- Commit to personal and professional growth by attending self-paced online and in-person offsite training.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year based on experience

Acton Academy Silicon Valley is seeking a full-time Credentialed Preschool Teacher. We are looking for a curious and passionate individual ready to lead learners on their hero’s journey and guide them to explore, be curious and be authors of their education.
Classroom and professional responsibility
· Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
· Be alert to the needs of children as individuals and as a group
· Work with the teaching team to set up and maintain the classroom
· Maintain punctual and consistent attendance
· Communicate frequently with parents professionally and respectfully. Areas of concern about children should be discussed with a co-teacher, associate teacher, and director but communicated to the parent by a teacher.
Curriculum Responsibilities
· Plan and implement an enriching curriculum for children as individuals and as a group.
· Learn the Kimochis curriculum and weave its social language into daily communication with children
· Work with a co-teacher/teacher’s aide, if applicable
· Conduct two individual parent/teacher conferences twice per year with each family.
· Attend Back-to-School Night and school events
· Attend all staff meetings, in-service training, classroom set-up/clean-up days, and team curriculum planning meetings
· Contribute to monthly parent newsletters
Qualifications and Competencies
· Bachelor's Degree in child development
· Child Development Associate Teacher
· Child Development Permits
· Child Development Teacher Permit
· Child Development Master Teacher Permit.
Approved schools, colleges, or universities, including correspondence courses offered by the same, means those approved/authorized by the U.S.
Employment Requirements
Before employment or initial presence in the childcare center, the Childcare teacher must obtain.
1. Live scan fingerprints and California clearance
2. Health screening (signed by a doctor)
3. Negative TB test within the last year
4. DTaP and MMR immunization record
Additional Required Certifications:
16 hours of health and safety training, authorized by Emergency Medical Services (EMS), which includes the following components:
1. Current pediatric first aid/pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR/first aide) card issued either by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association or by a training program that the Emergency Medical Services have approved
2. Complete Preventative Health and Safety Training
3. Abuse Mandated Reporter Training
