Hattie is a dedicated educator with three years of experience in bilingual classrooms abroad, specializing in fostering inclusive learning environments through critical pedagogy. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she spent the past three years in Galicia, Spain, teaching English through programs like the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship and the North American Language/Culture Assistants Program. These experiences have honed her skills in language instruction, classroom management, and cross-cultural engagement. Hattie is fluent in Spanish and is always happy to connect with both students and parents in the language. With a background in education research and social justice, she is passionate about providing transformative learning experiences. Outside of education, she enjoys creative pursuits such as drawing, zine-making, and ceramics, as well as activities like skating, running, and surfing.
