Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she spent the past three years in Galicia, Spain, teaching English through programs like the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship and the North American Language/Culture Assistants Program. Hattie is fluent in Spanish and is always happy to connect with both students and parents in the language. With a background in education research and social justice, she is passionate about providing transformative learning experiences. Outside of education, she enjoys creative pursuits such as drawing, zine-making, and ceramics, as well as activities like skating, running, and surfing.
